While I knew we were making progress, it was not visible on a daily basis.”
Each member of the Partnership for Affordable Green Building has donated countless hours of their valuable time to make this possible. They have also made concessions on their professional services & materials costs to make this as affordable as possible. We basically all agreed to make less money in order to accomplish this goal. It’s worth it in the long run. Bringing construction costs back down to earth will stimulate the local economy and put people back to work! At the same time offering our customers superior home models at almost ½ the price. After all, the teachers, nurses, policeman, fireman, state & county workers and parents are the backbone of our country. Many can’t afford to build in Hawaii at current rates and that simply won’t do! So it is for all of you that we do this.
What’s included at this price?
In short, everything :-)
To start with, these are beautiful home designs that will enhance any neighborhood. Featuring split pitched roofs, with large covered Lanai’s. Large bedrooms with lots of closet space and enough room to walk around beds on three sides. Lot’s of windows for great light & ventilation through out the house.
All homes custom built on site with local labor & materials. Not pre-manufactured, no panelized, modular or kit houses. And no overseas pre-built packages. Just good old fashion American engineering at its best!
Basic options include:
- Solar hot water included, solar electric optional
- 9 ft. Ceiling heights typical all floors
- Hardwood Cabinets
- Bamboo & other laminate floor systems
- Energy Star Appliances
- Bamboo or Formica countertops
- Bar level counters at kitchen / great room areas,
- Each with custom accents making each home unique.
- Insulation throughout typical
- Septic System
- Concrete Driveway (up to 50 feet)
- Split pitch roofs with 6 or more roof points (no boxes, 4 points = box)
- All models have extra strength roof framing to accommodate tile roof options without structural changes to plans
- Board & Bat or Vertical Siding exteriors, other options available.
- Large covered Lanai’s at front & back of all models
- Full Garage with most models & carport (porte-cochere) with others.
- All models with the highest level of hurricane straps & foundation ties
- All models have 4x12 exterior stair treads for solid feel and durability
Based on popular styles of the area we have incorporated our own design criteria such as morning light in the kitchen and evening light in the living areas. A balance of both private areas and common area’s, features particularly beneficial for family occupants.
We are currently working on a number of new affordable green models to add to this collection so check back soon. We are also adapting this affordable green building technique to custom designs. Our architectural dept. has a standard 48 hr. turn around for drafts so we are able to provide custom plans quickly & easily. Again all work done in house in the good old USA, no farming out to overseas companies.
