It’s one of the biggest concerns facing anyone with new construction or renovations: getting permits. Maui's planning needs to include proper permitting. Maui requires multiple permits before the building can begin, during the process, and before an owner can take occupancy. The process has been agonizingly slow for quite some time. But recently, Maui introduced a new system that automates and expedites much of the permit process. The Maui Planning And Permitting System, or MAPPS, replaces the previous system KivaNet.
